Renos mainly works with oils on canvas or canvas board. He also uses pastels, watercolours and
drawings. Other ways are also explored.
He mainly paints Seascapes, Landscapes and Townscapes but other subjects also attract the artist
such as people in activities, the nude, montage work, nature.

FINCHLEY ART SOCIETY– Art Exhibition, November 2009

| The artist who is a member of this prestige society which celebrated its 60th anniversary with this exhibition, participated with two new works which are different from his usual style and reflect events which occupied the minds of most people during the previous year and continue to do so. Art Exhibition of Reno's Golfing paintings

Reno's interest in golf was transferred onto canvas and paper and he exhibited at the Club House of his Mill Green Golf Club for more than a year, (ends January 2010). The work was inspired by the open spaces, the lakes and the woodlands of the golf course.
The artist welcomes commissions on golfing scenes of any kind.

SUMMER VISION
|
This Special Exhibition by Seven North London Contemporary Artists took place at the Britannia Centre, North Finchley – June 16 to July 4, 2009.
Coordinated by Renos Lavithis, the exhibition brought together the visual art of seven talented artists in a multi-faceted show, in which they explored their subject matter with imagination and sensitivity often using innovative, experimental approaches and techniques.

BLUE and LIGHT - Two Barnet Artist

RENOS LAVITHIS presented recent works inspired by Blue and Light in this unique Art Exhibition which included the Sea, Boats, the Landscape, Body movement- all in harmony with space and nature.
His works were exhibited with his long time friend and fellow artist COS GEROLEMOU (left in the picture), who displayed sculptures of bronze, marble and wood.
The exhibition took place at Britannia Centre, North Finchley in October 2008 and it was a great success.

LUTON MUSEUM Annual Art Exhibition
Renos has been taking part in this prestigious Annual Exhibition which covers three counties, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire, for several years now.
As a recognition of his contribution, the artist has been appointed as one of the three selectors/judges .
for the 2009 exhibition. |

Renos participated with artists Mary Plant and Irene Lembesis in a major exhibition in November 2007 at the Hellenic Centre large gallery in Central London. Organised by EPISTEME, The Association of British Cypriot Professionals, it was opened by David Lammy MP, Minister of Skills.
The theme of the exhibition was Myths and the glorification of Nature and it was a very successful event.

Summer
Art Festival
2009 was the first year of this well organised and attended festival which took place in June at the majestic Old Town Hall at St Albans.
Renos exhibited 5 works inspired by Trees from Herts countryside.

ARTSHED – WARE
at Westmill Farm, Westmill Rd. This well known art centre stages various exhibitions including some for
charity, such as the October 2008 “boys in blue” in aid of Prostate Cancer. Renos took part in that and other shows.

BURTON GARDEN CENTRE
As a member of the Southern Painters of HVAF – www.hvaf.org.uk he took part in this interesting exhibition in this popular garden centre along the north orbital road, St Albans.

AYOT ST LAWRENCE - SUMMER FESTIVAL |

This is an annual weekend Art Festival in the heart of the Hertfordshire countryside, west of Welwyn,
near to Shaw's Corner- home of George Bernard Shaw.
The exhibition is housed in the old Palladian church to raise money for its restoration. Renos is a regular
contributor to this most worthy exhibition held in early June.

SOLO EXHIBITION FOR MAYOR'S CHARITY
His solo exhibition of about 35 works took place in the Spring of 2006 in North
London in aid of the Mayor of Barnet's Charity Appeal for 'Mind in Barnet'.

The exhibition was facilitated by Councillor Marina Yiannakoudakis and Stacia Polemis and was a great success both with visitors and the sales which also helped the charity.

OPEN STUDIOS IN THE COMMUNITY
St Albans in 2006 – A number of artists, members of HVAF took part in this unique art and crafts exhibition, funded by the lottery commission. The show took place in the old Court Room of St Albans Town Hall.
The image above shows the wall allocated to Reno's works including the large work of St Albans Cathedral – a winter scene.

THEATRE WORKS
The artist prepared and submitted two oil paintings inspired by the theatre to a proposed exhibition in London organised by a theatre company.
Above the artist captures the mythical atmosphere of the ancient Greek theatre of EPIDAUROS and in contrast the MINAK theatre in Cornwall.
